Exhausted

Gosh, I’m a downer, aren’t I?

I really feel like I’ve lost my mojo.

Smiling and laughing just takes up too much energy – and so I don’t.

I’m sullen.

It’s got to the point where co-workers are comments. But – I’m not the only one. Virtually every person I work with feels the same way.

Based upon reports, this is the worst busy season. Ever. Seriously.

On average people are working 145% MORE than “standard” 7.5 hour days. That means everyone working on average 11 hours per day. 5 days a week. Now, we don’t work more than 7.5 hours a day on Friday, because, well, it’s Friday and we all want to go home and sleep. So move the 4 hours allocated to Friday and add an hour to Monday-Thursday. Oh, and a few on the weekend too.

It’s no wonder I’m burned out.

Yikes.

My short term goal? Make it to Friday.

My longer term goal? Find my mojo.

I want to be that chipper person again – but I just don’t have the energy to find her.

Gosh. I’m such a downer today.

Nine days and The Cowboy and I will be relaxing in the spa and hopefully regenerating.

There’s also a rumour going around that staff will be given a “bonus” day off on either March 30 or April 4. Now (if it’s true) that will be amazeballs! And very, very much appreciated.

Tiredness – note my halfway homeless look today

And…….once again…….dinner out.

Ugh. Looking at another late one.

It’s that time again…

*groans*

I hate it when eating becomes a chore. When eating is taking up time in your day that you’d rather not have it take up.

That’s where I am.

I’m also annoyed with having to decide what, exactly, I’m going to eat that day. BUT – I’m too busy and tired to grocery shop, so we eat out on weekends as well. Busy season, is a terrible cycle of yuck.

Dinner is a similar one as previous nights

Clockwise from left: broccoli salad, fizzy drink, pastrami and veggie sammich, strawberries.

Two things bug me about my sandwich 1. all grilled sandwiches should be cut on a diagonal. ALWAYS. 2. How can a sandwich be grilled and the cheese NOT MELT?!

Otherwise, the sandwich was edible.

Internet – what say you about sandwich cutting? Diagonal? Or vertical/horizontal?

I lied……

Thursday’s post is most certainly not the last in my busy season dinners series.

My apologies.

Or – YAY! MORE DINNER PICTURES!

You choose.

Since we didn’t finish our client last week, we’ve booked a meeting room where we will gather, after working on the client’s we’re scheduled on, from 7pm until 10ish (?) in order to get everything done. Oh boy.

I’ve reached the point in busy season where 87% of my brain is mush. The other 13% is focussed on a. when to I next get to sleep and b. where is the closest Starbucks.

Thank goodness I’ll be on vacation in 11 days.

Sorry, have I mentioned lately that The Cowboy and I are going on vacation? Well, we are.

I’ve also reached the point where dressing comfortably takes prescience over dressing appropriately. Sure, I wear dress pants, but the outfit must be as close as possible to feeling like pyjamas. I think I’ve succeeded today.

I found a new sweater two new sweaters at Lululemon yesterday and am in LURVE. They are so cozy, and, I’d like to believe, work appropriate.

Aside from venturing to lulu yesterday, I also went to yoga (woo! definitely needed) and The Cowboy attended a photography conference all weekend. I’ve never seen him so inspired, it’s wonderful. So we’re working on some awesome content for the blog – and it won’t just be photo related, an awesome recipe will be posted tomorrow morning, so check out the blog, or our Facebook page for deets. (“Treat Tuesday” will be a reoccurring theme on the photo blog – it will also be a reoccurring get my arse to the gym theme).

Clockwise from left: poorly photographed bottle of water, $10 salad, spinach and feta scone, raspberry cream cheese brownie (lest you think I’m being all healthy and stuff with my $10 salad)

Possibly the last one?

If everything goes as I hoped – this may be the last of the busy season dinners posts. WOOOOO!

Not woo for no more posting, but woo for minimal crazy hours.

I’ll still be working overtime, but I’m hoping that I’ll be able to get home by 8m so I can eat dinner at home instead of eating out.

I’m taking my team out for beers tonight, so thought I should go with a salad for dinner in an attempt to balance it out :) (the chippes probably aren’t so healthy though…)

 Thank goodness tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!!

Nothing works

I feel like today has been the day where I have said, “WHY DON’T YOU WORK?!” seventy billion times. And, yes, the bold and caps are necessary when saying, “WHY DON’T YOU WORK?!”

So super frustrating I tell ya.

So busy that I completely forgot to get dinner until well after 6pm – and I’m a 5pm dinner eater – mainly because I enjoy selection in picking my meals :)

Thankfully our dinner market is open for dinner until 8pm.

Yup, it was back to the same old dinner place tonight.

I also discovered that I appear to do best off of 6 hours of sleep. After working until 10:30 last night I got to bed around 12:30 and was up around 6:30 and feel fine. I’ve been at work for over 10 hours and I’m not exhausted yet. I fully admit this may change significantly come tomorrow when I’m tireds.

Anywho, moving on to the eats:

Not pictured: fruit cup and a cookie. Both of which will be consumed tonight. Beer will also be consumed tonight.
