Life List
I started this a while ago and figured it was about time to make it public.
Originally, I was inspired by Ryan at This is Reverb when he posted about his life list. It’s pretty fantastic.
That day, I started a list. I’ll include my list here (including what I’ve accomplished and what now needs to be changed) along with some new things I want to accomplish.

- Read the Bible from cover to cover
- Deepen my relationship with God
- Deepen my relationship with DH
- Buy a horse
- Pass my January 31, 2009 exam –> Passed!
- Pass the UFE —> Passed on December 4, 2009!!
- Go to Africa
- Spend Christmas is Costa Rica with L&P
- Buy a Nissan GTR –> Does a Nissan 370z count?!
- Learn to love my body
- Work out 4 days a week for a year –> started running 4 days/week on June 22, 2010
- Have a baby
- Improve my relationship with my dad
- Improve my relationship with my sister
- Learn how to be a better photographer
- Post 365 photos on Flickrs YIP group
- Meet a fellow blogger in person -> And……DONE! I met the wonderful MommyByDay on October 3. She’s a sweatheart. I think we all had a fantastic time at breakfast.
- Live in our 32nd floor condo without any worries/regrets –> Moved in June 23, 2009! No regrets yet
- Be mortgage free by 40
- See a Formula 1 race in person
- Go to a UFC fight (preferrably GSP)
- Get a meaningful tattoo
- Get to know my step-dad better
- Learn how to cut cattle (rodeo style!)
- Live in Australia for a year
- Tour the wineries in California
- Take The Cowboy to Disneyland and Disneyworld –> Disneyland in October 2011!
- Be promoted to “senior” in 2009 –> Promotion effective August 1, 2009!
- Receive a raise and bonus with the promotion –> Halfway there. Raise? Check. Bonus? Nope. Maybe 2010 I will see a bonus? But it’s not looking promising…
- See our business be successful –> so far so good! We’ve had some ups and downs in 2010, but so far, we’re okay.
- Retire at 55
- Watch less TV
- Spend less time “doing nothing” on the internet
- Learn how to budget –> almost there. I finally put together a budget for us. March 2011 is month one.
- Run a marathon
- Stop worrying about money
- Learn Spanish
- Improve my German
- Go to Germany for my opa’s 85 birthday in 2010 –> And what an amazing trip it was!
- Become SCUBA certified
- See Machu Pichu in Peru
- Take an Alaskan cruise
- Take a Mediterranean cruise
- Visit penguins in Antarctica
- See Niagara Falls
- Visit the Niagara wineries
- Finally get baptized
- Get to know the members of our bible study better –> throughout 2010 we’ve gotten to know 2 members quite well. But I’m not crossing this one off yet.
- Go to a movie premiere
- Ski a black diamond run
- Learn how to water-ski
- Own a seadoo, boat
- Go on a church mission
- Visit the pyramids in Egypt
- See my opa’s house in Danzig, Poland –> pictures to come! I was there in May 2010
- Snorkel with hammerhead sharks in the Galapagos Islands
- Fast (from something) for 40 days
Take The Cowboy back to Mexico–> Christmas 2010! Awesome
- Have a photograph published –> on PW’s website! (last photograph in the post)
- Start up a photography website with The Cowboy –> Done and done! You can check it out here (9/14/2010)
- Sell a picture from the above mentioned website
- Be able to work from home 1 day a week
- Go to CMA Music Fest (hello Nashville!)
- Go to New York on a trip with The Cowboy
- Figure out what to do career-wise
- Drive across the Golden Gate Bridge in the fog
- Go to China and see the Great Wall and Terracotta Warriors
- Climb a mountain
- Fly in a helicopter
- Take my cousin to the Kentucky Derby when she graduates high school
- Do a half Ironman triathlon
- Run a half marathon –> completed October 10, 2010.
- See the volcanoes erupting in Hawaii
- Form a life long friendship and maintain it through ups and downs (The Boy’s? Maybe?)
- See our business pay back the money we loaned it by the end of 2011 –> done. October 21, 2010. I’m an overachiever.
- Get one more big customer for the business by the end of (now revised to 2 customers in 2011)
- Run a half marathon in 1:55
- Read all the books on the 30 Books everyone should read before their 30th birthday (you can see my progress here)
- Take a sommelier course
Own a sequined dress–> does a sequined shirt count?- Do 1 nice thing a month for The Cowboy
- Buy property and build a house on it
- Take (and post) 1 picture a day for 2011 (pictures will be posted here) –> currently failing miserably.
- Go to Seattle
- Go to San Francisco
- Have boudoir photos taken of me for our new bedroom
- Save $40,000/year to put into retirement & lump sum mortgage payments
- Start up a home development company to assist us (and others) in building homes
- Be able to work full-time as an accountant (from home!) for the export & home development companies by 2013
- Purchase a new vehicle for me in 2011 (or early 2012)

Own a pair of William Rast Jeans<– Ordered and shipped from HauteLook. Waiting for their arrival. Arrive June 10!- Volunteer 1 day a month
- Own a dog –> halfway there – we have a cat!
- Decorate our new house well
Have 100+ items on my life list<– I’m calling this DONE!- Go to South Africa and see Great White Sharks
- Own a fox
- Photograph 20 weddings in 2012 with the photography business
- Go to WPPI in Las Vegas in 2012
- Complete the full P90x program in 2011 (starting March 28 – complete within 90 days)
- Learn how to make pergoies from scratch
- Make homemade pasta
- See the Vancouver Canucks win a Stanley Cup (I realize I have zero control over this)


I am a wine loving, food loving, running loving, blogging loving, yoga loving, picture taking loving, fashion loving woman. I live in Calgary, AB, with my wonderful husband to whom I've been married to for nearly 6 years!
