Fresh Start Challenge – Day 8
It’s getting decidedly more challenging when picking out clothes in the mornings.
Yes, I have a lot of clothes. Evidenced by some bonus pictures of my closets for you:
As you can see, there is no shortage of clothing for me to pick from – yet I struggled a bit this morning.
See, I don’t want to use up all the “good clothes” just yet. It’s only the 8th of September, I still have 23 days to go with this challenge, and I do not want to be stuck wearing the “bad” clothes at the end of the month
That said, I really should wear today’s top more often. It doesn’t look like a whole lot in the drawer, but I think it looks cute on. Another 30 degree day, another day of long pants. The good news is that next week should be awesome, so I can break out a dress or two as well.

Fresh Start Challenge – Day 7
I’m nearly 1/4 of the way in! And so far, I’ve been successful.
Today’s outfit was a bit of a challenge. My right shin has been bugging me (most likely because I wear crappy shoes) so, although it’s 30 degrees out today (who says summer is over?!) I wanted to wear pants so people needn’t see my awesome bandage. But y’all know I’m going to show you. Obviously.
I also made sure to wear decent walking shoes to work. The problem? I haven’t yet changed out of my walking shoes. Whatevs. They’re comfy. This is a definite bonus of working in a relatively casual office……and being able to hide my feets under my desk for most of the day.
Wait, what’s that?
You want to see more of my outfit than just shoes and a bandage?
Well, okay then
I think the shoes really add some flare to the outfit!

Fresh Start Challenge – Day 5 & 6
I had such a fun and busy day yesterday that I just didn’t get a chance to post my outfit. I did take pictures before leaving the house to go shopping with Tova (our husbands went golfing while we went shopping).
After shopping we ate and visited until it was 10:30 and The Cowboy and I realized we really probably should leave considering today is a work day. *sigh*
I kept it pretty casual yesterday. I hate shopping in clothes that are difficult when in a change room. This means no fancy high heeled boots (no matter how cute they are!) and no dresses as they all tend to be zip up and that’s just a pain in the butt when in a change room.
After we arrived home, The Cowboy requested that I shower as I had spent some time playing with Tova’s adorable cat Weasley. As much as I LOVE kitteh’s The Cowboy is horribly allergic and didn’t want to die in his sleep, so I obliged.
The problem? What the heck to do with my hair. I didn’t think the shortness would survive the night so I decided to see what my short, damp hair would do if I attempted no heat curls.
The verdict? Not too shabby. Definitely more curly in the front than in the back, but I think that’s okay.
To top off the somewhat 80′s hairdo (although not nearly as 80′s as some of the clothes Tova and I spotted yesterday!) I added some metal feather earrings.
Wait? What’s that? You want to see a picture of the hair and earrings not in black and white?
Okay, I think I can handle that.
Today also starts the exercise part of the challenge. My goal for today is a slooooooow 6km run. I realized I haven’t ran since the 17th of August and that was just a 5km run on a treadmill, so we’ll see how well I make out today.
I’ve decided not to run the race I signed up for on September 11. There’s no way I remotely ready and I’d probably just end up injuring myself, so instead I’m going to go to Spruce Meadows and watch The Masters with my sister and Tova all weekend. A much better choice.

Fresh Start Challenge – Day 4
The Cowboy and I made it to bed sometime around 4am last night. I think that means the wedding reception was a huge success! We had a fantastic time
So much so that I may have tried to convince The Cowboy that we need to hold ourselves a 10 year wedding reception since we didn’t get one when we originally got married.
Today was a 3 hour drive home after dragging ourselves out of bed at 10am in time to check out of the hotel.
We were tiiiiiiiiired.
Obviously, this called for the comfiest outfit for the drive – and no time to blow dry my hair. The new haircut is certainly meant to be blow dried/straightened and not air dried in the mornings.
Hooray for 4-day weekends and sleeping in tomorrow morning!
Hat – Burton
Hoodie – Firefly
Pants – lululemon
What do you think of a 10 year anniversary party? Cheesy? Or fun?

Fresh Start Challenge – Day 3
WEDDING DAY!!!!!!!
No pictures of the actual wedding, it feels weird for us to take pictures of the wedding when we know they’ve hired amazing photographers to capture the day for them, so these hotel room pictures will have to suffice
The ceremony was amazing and the bridge absolutely gorgeous. Unbelievably gorgeous. I even caught a bit of an ugly cry from the groom. Heh.
I’m still undecided if I’m going to change into a party dress for the reception, or keep the black dress and pearls. I realize I’m probably making this way more complicated than it needs to be
Entire outfit is courtesy of the Banana Republic Mad Men Collection.

Fresh Start Challenge – Day 2
Did you think I forgot?
Wore the same thing as yesterday?
Lucky for you, neither of those are true
This morning I slept in (no run for me), got my hair cut, packed, got my eyebrows done, went to the mall, lost The Cowboy’s iPhone, found The Cowboy’s iPhone and drove 3 hours to Edmonton.
It was then I was finally able to take some picture of my “day off” outfit.
We’re in Edmonton for a wedding and are so, so excited for tomorrow.
So excited that I even cut off 4 inches of hair.
Let’s see that one more time in colour
I’m even classy enough to pain my nails and get my eyebrows waxed.
Tomorrow’s post may be a bit delayed at the ceremony is at 11am and the reception is at 5:30pm, so we may be celebrating the entire day.
I did find an awesome hat and hoodie that I want to pick up too, so we’ll see what tomorrow brings.
Happy weekend, friends!
