Anniversary Weekend
On September 16, after working for nearly 12 hours, The Cowboy and I hopped in our car to drive to Banff for our anniversary weekend.
We started off the 17 with an engagement photoshoot where we learned that we now need to add the following disclaimer to all email communications to clients: If there is any discrepancy between a verbal quote and an email quote, the email quote herein will be taken as correct just because some clients can’t/don’t read emails. *sigh*
After the shoot, The Cowboy and I had planned on going for a hike, but the weather was quite cold so instead we went for a snack at the Banff Springs Hotel and then rested in our hotel before going to The Bison and The Bear for an amazing anniversary dinner!
I also may have purchased a sweater and a jacket while in Banff. Whoops

Rainy Season
Another storm rolled into Calgary around dinner time tonight.
I’m loving that all the storms are rolling in south of us, we still get some rain, but not the downpour, and it makes for some fantastic picture taking opportunities!
I may have used the rain as a reason not to run this evening.
I’ve been feeling under the weather (sore throat and my ears are bugging me) so I made myself a big mug of tea and am chilling on the couch, watching the storms instead.
I’m really hoping this cold doesn’t stick around since I’m hopping on a plane for a family party on Saturday. Go away cold!

Stampede Round up: Chuckwagons
Goodness.
Has it really been a week since The Cowboy and I were at Stampede?!
Yikes
I’m sure falling behind.
I think that’s because I talk a lot
We started off our evening at Stampede by procuring some dinner. Burgers, fries and cesars is was! Mmmmmm.
Next we had an hour to kill before the Chuckwagons started so we checked out the heavy horse pull. The Clydesdales and Percheron’s started off by pulling 6500 pounds. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stay for the full pull, as last year the winner pulled 13,200 pounds. Crazy!
We ducked out around 8,500 pounds and then set out to procure some deep fried Oreos. In the past they’ve been really easy to find, this time? Notsomuch. We walked the and entire loop around the vendors before we found them. I was SO HAPPY to see them! AMAZING! Seriously!
Then we grabbed some diet Cokes (we *ahem* added our own rum) and grabbed our seats for the finale of the Chuckwagons. So fun!
This would be the Stagecoach that Will & Kate rode in to the BMO Centre on during their visit to Calgary earlier in the week.
After the Chuckwagons finished (Kelly Sutherland won for the twelfth time, making him the most winningest driver in the history of Stampede…..oh, and $100,000 richer) we got ready for the Grandstand Show.
We were pretty exhausted by the time the show started at 10:30, but we pushed through, and we were glad we did! The show was awesome, and the fireworks finale wasn’t bad, either!

Stampede Round up – Videos
The Cowboy and I had an awesome time at the finale of the Chuckwagons on Sunday. We had great seats right by the finish line and really enjoyed the Grandstand show too.
The best part of going to the Chuckwagons on the last day of Stampede is the fireworks. At the end, the release all the extra charges and it makes for an absolutely ridiculous show and a crazy amount of noise!
Our seats weren’t taking pictures of the fireworks, so I decided to take a video of the regular show and the fireworks explosion instead.
Enjoy!

I was touched by Jordan Knight! (and, uhm, another NKOTB)
If I asked you to name all member of the Backstreet Boys (I’m talking all 5 from back in the day) you’d probably do something like this:
Nick.
Brian.
Howie.
AJ.
Uhm. Crap. I KNOW there’s a fifth. WHO IS IT?!
Lemme help you out here, the fifth (and no longer singing) member is Kevin.
See?
Let’s do the same with NKOTB……
Jordan
Johnathan
Joie
Donnie
Uhm. Right, there’s totally a fifth, right?!
Once again, yes, there’s a fifth. That would be Danny.
Okay, so, all this to say I totally had to look up who possibly touched me aside from Jordan Knight.
(It wasn’t Danny, it was the other Knight brother, Johnathan, but I had to check…….)
(Sidebar: I totally got his doll as a birthday present when I turned 9. So touching him was pretty much a full circle moment [as Oprah would say] for me)
(Related: being touched by two members of NKOTB prompted me to turn to my friend and say, “I touched TWO of them! I totally win at NKOTB!” No, I’m not competitive, why do you ask?)
(Random: I just realized the Jordan Knight was my very first crush ever! And I touched him. Yeah. I totally win)
(I also very nearly touched Nick Carter AND Brian Littrell as they both used the staircase right next to our seats. Sadly, I didn’t get a good picture of the Brian encounter *sniff*)
I left my fan-girl 13 year old self out of the closet for a night and it was AWEOSME!
This concert was seriously one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
We had so much fun we were considering going to afterparty, but heard that only Howie was going to the afterparty. Sure, I love all BSB, but I really wanted to go to like the sweat off Nick…..and Donnie (guys! Marky Marks BROTHER!)…..and Brian…….and Jordan. So…..Howie wasn’t really doing it for me.
Confession: I’ve always been more of an N’SYNC girl than a BSB girl with JT being #1 on my list, but, uhm, after seeing Nick singing (I am sexual?! Yes, yes, Nick, I do) and dancing, all I have to say is DAYUM! JT is still #1 for me, but Nick – you.are.hawt!
However, I did buy TWO t-shirts at the concert. One is a large because the sold out of mediums, but eh, I’ll survive.
My 9 year old self is especially happy today.
Also, I’m 28 and still totally boy crazy. What? It happens.
I’m off to go download every single BSB and NKOTB album ever made!

Why you should ALWAYS make the “Nick Carter I want to have your babies” sign
Or, in this case, the “Brian Pick Me!” sign.
No joke.
This girl was standing next to us at the NKOTBSB concert and was picked to go on stage and have Brian Littrell SING TO HER.
Yeah, we totally make fun of her sign before hand.
Guess what?!
Signs work!
More to come…..
