The Cowboy and I have been married for 5.5 years. We first met when I was 17 and he was 19. I’d love to say it was love at first sight, and it was, kinda, but we sure did have our ups and downs until we decided, 5 years after first meeting, that maybe it might be time for us to make it official.
Our love of food is natural considering the Cowboy worked as a cook in numerous restaurants before making the decision to run his own business. (Fun fact: he served sushi to Tom Cruise. He didn’t tip). While I’m not nearly as good a cook as the Cowboy, I like to try my hand at new an exciting recipes. I prefer to make delicious appetizers and bad-for-you desserts, while the Cowboy is better at dinners.
We both grew up on Vancouver Island and relocated to Alberta in 2003 and have been here ever since. Our time in Calgary has seen me working a minimum wage job, making the decision to go back to school, receiving a degree in accounting and starting work at an accounting firm and after 3 years at the accounting firm moving to “industry”.
Just this past fall the Cowboy started up a photography business while still running his current business. We’ve also made the decision to sell our kick-ass downtown condo to buy an acreage and build a house. We’re pretty pumped about it.
Anyone want to buy a condo?
When the Cowboy and I aren’t working, cooking or running, we enjoy Vancouver Canucks hockey, UFC, Formula 1 and enjoying a good glass of wine. Or two.
