Lazy Weekend
Another weekend nearly in the books!
This past weekend was significantly more relaxed than the previous weekend.
We started off Friday by heading out for dinner. Our original plan was to check out a new Mexican restaurant nearby but when we arrived shortly after 6pm we were told it would be roughly an hour for a table, but they don’t take a waitlist so we could come back in an hour and see. Uhm. Let me think about that. How about no.
So The Cowboy and I headed up the street to Wurst, a delicious Germany inspired restaurant. We each ordered an Erdinger Dunkle (the best dark beer!) and The Cowboy had a schnitzel chop with spatzel and I had a bratwurst for dinner. Both were amazing.
We headed home right after as we were pretty set on an early night. Waking up at 5am on Thursday and going to bed at midnight on Thursday made for a very sleepy Friday. I caught up on Scandal and was in bed by 9pm on Friday.
Early to bed meant early to rise and both The Cowboy and I were awake by 7am on Saturday. This gave me the chance to catch up on Vampire Diaries and half of Grey’s Anatomy before my 9:30am spin class. I came home with scones (I LOVE weekend breakfasts!) and finished off Grey’s before hopping in the shower and getting the condo ready for our 2pm showing.
The Cowboy needed more water for his shop, so we planned to head to Costco to kill some time during the showing. Our shopping list was a follows:
- 2 jugs water
- toilet paper
- Grand Marnier
- Rum
As evidenced by the below picture, we certainly purchased much, much more than that.
We purchased so many fun items that I took pictures and will post about them later this week ![]()
We didn’t eat lunch before our shopping trip so as soon as we walked in the door at 4pm I set out to cook us some Reuben sandwiches for dinner; Reubens were accompanied with Magic Mike. I thought it was kind of “meh”. Am I the only one?!
Saturday was another relatively early night; a good thing because I planned on heading to a 9am gym class. My reward for waking up at 8am on a Sunday? French toast. The rest of the morning on Sunday was a bit rushed because we had a noon showing, so it was breakfast, shower, clean, leave.
The plan for the rest of Sunday? Prepping my lunches for the week (thanks Costco!), watching NFL (I’m pretending it’s a substitute for hockey, it really isn’t), writing blog posts, cooking dinner and watching Revenge.
I only have two more weekends at home before my crazy November travel starts, so I’m truly enjoying being lazy.
