Fresh Start Challenge – Day 10, 11 & 12
Why yes, I have been busy, why do you ask?
Maybe because I disappeared for 3 days without posting my outfits. Could that be it?
For some reason I have a really tough time blogging on weekends. Probably because my weekend have been so freaking busy as of late. Let me tell you – this isn’t going to change anytime soon. Nopers. Certainly not in the next 4 weeks, but I promise to do my best to prove to all 3 readers that I’m wearing a new outfit every day
Saturday
Sunday
Weekend wear was pretty casual. Definitely casual on Sunday. All I did Sunday was mark exams and go to the Farmer’s Market. Perfection. Well……perfection minus marking assignments for 6 hours, but there’s not much I can do about avoiding that!
Saturday I went to Spruce Meadows with Tova and her husband. Spruce Meadows is probably one of my most favourite places on earth, but not everyone shares my love of horsies. Luckily, Tova and David indulged me
(and The Cowboy even watched an entire show on TV with me on Sunday too – I think he secretly likes the horsies).
Monday
The weather cooled off enough today that I was able to wear one of my new sweaters
I’ve been saving them as I don’t want to wear all my cozy sweaters in one week and be stuck without cute clothes for the rest of the month – but I decided today was the day. Paired my glasses that match my shoes (oh yeah, I planned that!)

Fresh Start Challenge – Fitness Week 1
The fitness portion of my month long challenge has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start.
First off, my injury certainly doesn’t help me any. Having a bum shin and a 21.1km race in 4 weeks kinda sucks. I’m going my best to manage it in the hopes I’ll be able to at least finish the race and not do too much damage.
Thursday (Sept 6)
P90x – Shoulders and arms followed by Ab Ripper X.
I still hate Tony Horton, but decided to do my best to stick it out. It was a good workout and I know I need to up my strength training.
I was pretty disappointed that I wasn’t sore on Wednesday morning though. Guess I’ll need to up my weights for week 2!
Wednesday (Sept 7)
The Cowboy and I had a late dinner reservation with friends, so I had lots of time to get a good workout in. After taping my shin all day it felt okay so I ventured down to the treadmill (I wasn’t feeling running in 30 degree weather and didn’t want to get stranded due to an injury a few kilometres from home) and made it 20 minutes (or 3.2km) before I had to give it up.
Apparently taping my shin isn’t helping…..
I did walk to our dinner reservation as well – it worked out to be about a 4km walk, so at least I did something.
Thursday (Sept 8)
Back on the P90x bandwagon.
Thursday was legs and back. I had never done this workout before because I started off on the wimpy P90x back in the Spring. Let me tell you, that one HURT!
Friday (Sept 9)
The Cowboy and I had plans to go to Spruce Meadows for an event starting at 7:30, so I did nothing
I had planned do to a P90x workout, but decided to take a rest day instead. Whoops.
Watch out for pictures of horsies coming next week
Saturday (Sept 10)
I had an appointment with my chiropractor in the morning for my legs, so I discussed my shin issues with her. Seeing as I have a race in 4 weeks (and I skipped one this weekend because of my injury…boo!) I wanted to make sure that I would be in shape to train and race for the remaining 4 weeks.
So worked the heck out of my shin! I wouldn’t let The Cowboy touch it for days! Although I was given the okay to run on Saturday, I gave it the day off
Sunday (Sept 11)
I also gave myself Sunday off.
Wait – does walking around the Farmer’s Market count as exercise? If so NAILED IT!

Here’s hoping week 2 shapes up a bit better than week 1

A long, long time ago: The Zoo
So remember a few months ago when I posted that colour coded calendar of the craziness of my summer and then didn’t post pictures and basically disappeared for the month of August?
Yeah.
I’m back.
Kind of.
I’m at least attempting to catch up on my crazypants weekends one at a time.

Sunday was a bit of a slower start. We didn’t get home until after 10pm on Saturday, so we took some time to sleep in and I spent a few hours working on Sunday morning before we headed out to the zoo for the afternoon.
I don’t think there’s a lot that needs to be captioned here.
The butterflies were hatching and I like penguins.
Any questions?
