Running and Fueling

I finally made it out for a run in my new running shoes.

I swear, those guys have been sitting in my closet for nearly two weeks! Unbelievable……nearly two weeks without a run, that’s unheard of for me!

I gave my two different tapes a try today as well. I had used the RockTape on Friday when I did a bunch of walking with my cousin downtown and it made a huge difference on my shin :)

With all the walking and hiking we did over the weekend I noticed my IT-band was tight and sore, so I used the KenisTape a go there as it looked like it would be easier to apply than the RockTape on my IT-band.

So far so good! I could feel my shins a bit, but it wasn’t terrible and my new shoes were amazing! Much, much lighter than I’m used to and I felt really good :)

I had a quick smoothie after walking in the door and at 8:30 was hankering for a snack.

I didn’t want anything big, but I knew if I didn’t find something healthy I’d be diving into the cookie jar :)

Hardboiled egg with vegan Becel on whole wheat toast.

Iced green tea with a spash of almond milk on the side.

Mmmmmm.

I found the iced green tea while picking up groceries after my run today.

(also found? chia seeds and hemp seeds! I added them to my overnight oats. I’m crossing my fingers for a successful breakfast tomorrow)

Bonus?!

Mint iced tea and white iced tea. Perfect for an afternoon pick me up!

Blogging about Blogging

How annoying, right?!

Navel gazing on the internet.

Just bear with me here :)

I’ve been reading a lot of new blogs lately (you can see my Blogroll here – I still have some updating to do) and I’ve noticed that each of the blogs had an identity.

I started my blog waaaaay back in 2007 and since then what I’ve blogged about has changed about a zillion times. I’ve also changed my site 4 times, each time it’s felt more like me. After reading some new blogs (many of time are “lifestyle” or “healthy living” blogs) I’ve started to wonder if maybe I should change my blog.

Every time I think of this I come back to one thing, this blog is my home.

Over the past few months, I’ve started blogging more about fashion and fitness and my daily outfits (I’m still working on remembering to take pictures before I leave for work with the start of the new job) and I love it. I’ve become more and more passionate in healthy living the past few months but I don’t know if that warrants a blog change. (Sure it would be super duper awesome to actually have a real header on my blog [ahem, Cowboy, do yo hear that?!] but a change of address? I don’t think so).

That said, I do want to create more of an identify for myself as a blogger. I’m just not sure what that means. Does it mean that I re-vamp my blog schedule? Does it mean that I post more of a day-by-day recap of my life? (I used to do this and have moved away from it because I think my life can be pretty boring some days). Do I focus more on fashion? Do I focus more on running and eating healthy?

I’m not sure of any of these answers yet, but I’m working to figure them out. I love my l’il space on the Interwebs and definitely want to find my identify as a blogger, even if it is 4 years after I first started blogging ;)
